Event Notes
Oktopus is an important figure on the Canadian world scene, with more than 250 performances in Canada and internationally. Oktopus offers music undeniably rooted in the klezmer tradition, which reflects the rich history of a thousand-year-old people, with its persecutions and its celebrations, its tears and its laughter or both at the same time. Just as the musicians of yesteryear incorporated into their repertoire the music they encountered on their travels, Oktopus draws inspiration from the music that has dotted the journeys of its musicians.
This event is part of BC Culture Days and is free to the public. Donations are appreciated and will go to the Cowichan Intercutural Society. Tickets must be reserved in-person or by phone.
